Insurance claims stall on missing information. A few phone photos and a guess at the cost will get you a lowball or a denial. A documented inspection with measurements, close-ups, repair operations and line-item pricing gets the claim moving.
We inspect at your location, build the record, and hand you an estimate you can submit to your carrier. When new damage turns up during approved repairs, we document that too and send the supplement.
Problems we fix
- Roof, awning, exterior wall and slide-out damage from storms, trees or impacts
- Water intrusion damage where the full scope is unclear
- Adjuster requests for photos, measurements or line-item support
- Reinspection and supplemental documentation requests
- Pre-purchase or pre-season roof and water-intrusion inspections
What the work includes
- On-site inspection of all accessible damage
- Photographs, measurements and written observations
- Moisture checks and identification of concealed-damage risk
- Itemized repair estimate with labor, materials and parts
- Organized documentation packet for you, your carrier or your appraiser
- Supplemental documentation during approved repairs
Good to know
Our inspection is built to get the claim approved: every photo, measurement and line item is there so the adjuster can say yes without a second visit. We are the repair contractor, so we speak to repairs and scope; coverage decisions stay with your carrier, and we make sure they are made on complete evidence.
What a real inspection covers
Every roof penetration: vents, fans, air conditioner, antennas, solar mounts, skylights. Roof-to-sidewall seams, the front and rear caps, roof-edge trim. Window, door and compartment seals, body seams, corner moldings and slide-out seals. The membrane itself for tears, bubbles and chalking. Inside: ceiling, wall and floor soft spots, staining, warped cabinet wood and the musty smell that means water has been in the structure for a while. We use a pinless moisture meter to scan walls and ceilings and confirm readings with a pin meter, and a thermal camera to find cold, wet insulation you cannot see. When the entry point is still unclear, we water-test one zone at a time.
What is in the estimate
An insurance-ready estimate is a document an adjuster can approve without a second visit: dated wide and close-up photos, measurements of the affected roof or wall area, a cause-of-loss description that separates sudden damage from wear, line items for every repair operation with labor hours at our posted rate, materials and parts, and clear remove-and-reinstall versus replace decisions. An estimate written by an RV technician who has opened these walls before carries more weight than a general auto-body estimate, and it is the difference between a claim that moves and one that stalls.
Supplements and reinspections
RV water and storm claims commonly need a supplement once the roof or wall is opened and hidden damage (rotted framing, wet insulation) is exposed. We photograph what we find, document it in the same format, and submit it. Adjusters sometimes ask for a reinspection; we meet them at the RV, in person or by phone, when you authorize it.
Pre-purchase inspections
Water damage is the most expensive thing to miss on a used RV, and it is nearly invisible from the sales lot. Before you buy, we inspect the roof, every seal and seam, windows, floor and walls for intrusion, read the moisture levels, and give you a written summary with photos. You walk in knowing what the RV needs and what it should cost, which is either peace of mind or negotiating leverage.
What it costs
Inspection and estimate visits are billed at $175 per hour plus travel. Most inspections take one to two hours. When we perform the approved repair, the inspection time is part of the job.

Common questions about RV damage inspections & insurance estimates
How fast can you inspect after a storm?
Call us as soon as the damage happens. We schedule inspections quickly because the sooner the roof is documented and protected, the less secondary water damage you deal with.
Can I use your estimate with any insurance company?
Yes. Our estimates are itemized with labor, materials and parts, which is what every carrier and independent appraiser asks for.
Do you do pre-purchase RV inspections?
We do roof, seal and water-intrusion inspections on used RVs before you buy. Water damage is the most expensive thing to miss on a used RV.
What if the adjuster disagrees with your estimate?
We speak with the adjuster when you authorize it and explain the repair operations line by line. Clear documentation resolves most disagreements.
How much does an RV damage inspection cost?
Inspection visits are billed at $175 per hour plus travel, and most take one to two hours. If we do the approved repair, the inspection time rolls into the job.
Will my insurer accept an estimate from a mobile technician?
Yes. Carriers accept itemized estimates from qualified repairers, and many prefer them because they describe the actual repair operations. We speak with your adjuster when you authorize it.
Is water damage covered or is it "maintenance"?
Sudden events (a limb, hail, wind, an impact) are typically covered; gradual seal failure is typically not. Our inspection documents the cause so the question is answered with evidence rather than opinion.
Can you inspect an RV I am about to buy?
Yes, at the dealer lot, a seller's driveway or a storage yard. You get a written summary with photos before you sign.
Do you inspect slide-outs and awnings for storm damage?
We document visible storm damage to slide toppers, awnings and exterior walls as part of the claim record. Repairs to slide mechanisms themselves are outside our service list.
Do you do Massachusetts state inspections?
No. We do RV condition, damage and water-intrusion inspections, not the state safety inspection sticker.
Tree, storm, hail, wind and impact damage
A tree came down, a limb punched through, a storm peeled the membrane back. We inspect, document the loss for your insurer, write the estimate, and install a complete, brand-new roof once the claim is approved.
