Safety
Stay off the roof. A limb that punched through the membrane may have cracked the decking and framing, and the roof can fail under your weight. Check for downed power lines around the RV before approaching. If propane lines or tanks were struck, shut the tank valves if you can reach them safely and tell us when you call.
Protect the interior
If the opening is reachable from a ladder without standing on the roof, cover it with a tarp secured at the edges. Otherwise move belongings out from under the damage, put down buckets and towels, and run a fan or dehumidifier.
Photograph before you touch anything
Wide shots of the RV and the tree, close-ups of the roof damage, and interior shots of every wet area. Date-stamped phone photos are fine. These are the foundation of the claim.
Call the insurer, then call us
Open the claim and get the claim number. Then call 508-933-0425. We inspect, document, measure and write the itemized estimate the adjuster needs, and speak with the adjuster when you authorize it. After approval we replace the roof at your location.
Do not
Do not remove the tree yourself if it is resting on the roof; the tree service and photographs come first. Do not sign a blanket authorization with a storm-chasing contractor. Do not let the roof sit open through another rain if you can safely prevent it.
